43Ads gets ‘Site of the Month’ award!

Wednesday, November 8th, 2006

While checking for backlinks to the 43Ads website today I noticed a mention of the site in Chris’ SEO blog. It turns out that the site has been awarded the ‘site of the month’ award for October. This monthly award is given to a website listed in the 100 lists directory In order to be eligible for the award, one main point is that the site should pass the W3C validation and use a valid CSS file. With this being my first site designed with CSS, I’m extra proud of the award! :D

43Ads

Sunday, October 29th, 2006

The big number in web2.0 seems to be 43. There are a lot of sites with lists that contain 43 items. There is 43 Blogs, 43 things to do in this
life
, 43 people you want to meet and even a blog about nothing
but 43
.

Today a brand new site has been launched: 43Ads This new link selling website has a front page with, you’ve guessed it: 43 links. Anyone who has a little bit of cash to spend can get a link on the site and you will stay on there until other people, with more cash to spare, have pushed you off. But being pushed off of the page is not a loss, because you get your money back plus a little profit on top of that!

Blogging to the Bank

Saturday, October 28th, 2006

Rob Benwell has written an e-book on how to make money using blogs. His method does not require posting a lot to get enough visitors to the blog itself, but rather using several blogs to drive traffic to an affiliate site. Robs book, Blogging to the Bank is full of interesting thoughts on how to drive traffic to a website using blogs.

It all sounds very logical and running a blog directory myself, I notice a lot of submissions to the directory of these exact type of blogs lately. I don’t want these type of blogs in my directory and only approve the ones that are real blogs, but there are tons of directories that will accept these sites and let you build traffic to them.

Advertising 2.0

Thursday, October 26th, 2006

Here’s a cool concept: buy a link and the price doubles, now if someone else buys for the new price, you get your money back (but you get to keep your link) On the next round you get the same amount you paid again, so you just doubled your money. This is Advertising 2.0 at mmmzr.

The only problem is that the price of the links go up unbelievably fast and will soon hit a point where people will probably not buy anymore. Not a real problem for me though, I’ve doubled my money and actually gotten quite a few visitors from the site! :D

Track your traffic

Wednesday, September 27th, 2006

Most webhosting accounts come installed with awstats which is a very nice traffic statistics program, but lately I’ve been using Google Analytics more. The only thing I didn’t like on the Google Analytics page was that the number of websites you could track was limited to 10 sites. Going over my website stats I just noticed that this limit is gone now! :D

Stay in touch

If you have a members website, people often sign up and then never return again. Even if they liked your site, they may not return, simply because they forget about your site.

You can get them to visit your site again by simply sending them a reminder, of the existence of your website, in the form of a newsletter. Be sure to make the mail you send out useful, don’t spam your users, they don’t like that. The newsletter could be a short overview of new things that have been added to the site, or other useful information on the same topic.
