I was planning on reviewing the year after it had ended, but I just noticed the ProBlogger Group Writing Project thanks to Tim Nash (ventureskills at webdigity) So why not do a quick review of the year now and get a link from ProBlogger…
My AdSense income is probably in the millions in some odd currency just not in US$… My goal for this year was to get my AdSense income up to $100 a month and it looks like I am getting very close. This months total is at $75 so far and the month is not over yet. I’m not too sure if I will make it, since the Christmas holidays are just around the corner, I think my income will be lower over the next 2 weeks. Still I’m very satisfied on the results I got this year.
I have started quite a few new sites this year and should focus on making those grow bigger and create more income from them. I have witnessed the power of mailing lists first hand and will add them to several of my new sites. With people subscribing to your mailing list you can remind them on coming back to your site by sending them an occasional update report. Just be sure not to spam your subscribers or they will be gone before you know it!

Glad you joined the project
Quick question do you find many people join site based mailing lists?
I think I’m a member of a couple but overall I just ignore them.
One area that may suit blogs better is Feedburner rss feed and email service which while not a mailing list, provides you with the ability to send email versions of your blogs to see it in action check out the Venture Skills blog click on a post and at the bottom you will see subscribe by email.
The nice thing about this is you don’t have to worry about updating it, and you can send emails to current subscribers so can provide them with extras such as free PDF one of the best examples of this technique has to be the Conversion squirrel web site

Tim, the rate at which people are signing up on my mailing lists is not too high. I see many people offer some free e-book or somethin else to get people to sign up. I guess people signing up on these kind of lists will not be reading a lot of the mailings, simply because they just signed up to get the free stuff.
On my mailing lists I get a few signups every now and again, but I see my traffic stats go up, right after I send out a mailing to the list. I also get a few nice replies on the mailings, so people are reading it.

Was curious did you make $100 a month? Or was your goal for the year to make it to that first $100 from google? I have yet to reach that, but only in the last three months did I start learning more about making money blogging. I’m going to feed your blog.

Eliza, the plan for this year was to make $100 a month by the end of the year. It looks like I am getting very close!

There’s nothing like seeing your first “three-figure” cheque from Google. Congratulations on joining the club!

The best of luck. In my experience the final few dollars are the most difficult to make. I’m glad you haven’t put AdSense on here (I don’t know if you can with WordPress anyway) - with a title like The Big Adsventure it would attract thewrong sort of attention.
