When Google gets rid of you
|
Submitted by The C Channel Much is being said about Google’s right to delete someone’s link at their own discretion. There are two views to the argument, of course. There are those who say that Google has no right to withdraw a listing without prior notice or help to get back in the list. There are the others who question anyone’s imposition in being listed with Google and applaud Google’s antics that have been implemented to ring out spam sites. But the fact of the matter is that many webmasters are almost 100% dependant on Google’s search results. Isn’t this dangerous? You’ve placed all your eggs in a single basket and now they’ve all broken. Is Google to blame? The argument heated up when a well-established English site was delisted. Nothing seemed to be out of place, no SEO tricks were being used and in fact one of its backlinkers was the BBC itself, who vigorously checks and rechecks a site prior to allowing a backlink. So what happened? Nobody knows. Google won’t say. If your site is taken out of Google’s lists, its pointless to complain or to demand clarification. They will only tell you why such a decision was made if they feel like it. ‘Do no evil’ - this is the motto the company swears to live by, in case anyone’s forgotten. |

I am finding that Adsense is a difficult animal to tame. I have found that I get more hits from the Yahoo search marketing system then I do from using google adwords. Not sure why this is. The ad is the same. Now my next big problem is conversion. Any pointers?

How big is the difference and is it just the number of clicks you get on your ad that are different or the clicks compared to how many times the ad has been displayed on websites?
